Shop FAQ’s

Our shop minimum is $80.

Tattoos by Jess Fox are priced per hour ($125/HR) unless discussed otherwise. Jess is always happy to discuss rates with you upon the consultation. If this is a smaller tattoo that will take under an hour, she will provide a price by piece. Jess decides how long this tattoo will take. Please keep in mind that large scale projects like sleeves and back pieces will require multiple sessions. Each session usually lasts anywhere between 2-4 hours. There is a 2 week minimum between sessions to allow for healing before the tattoo can be worked on again.

Cash is 100% preferred. You can also use a credit or debit card.

All tattoos require a $50 deposit for your appointment. A full day requires a $200 deposit and $300 for white over black ink projects. The deposit will be applied to your final session when your tattoo is completed. If you need to reschedule your appointment, your deposit will continue to be applied to your final tattoo session, provided that you give 48 hours advance notice. If you are a no-show or cancel without 48 hours notice, you will need to put down another deposit to reschedule.

You can book online through our online booking system, or call the shop at 716.844.8005.

The day before

Please make sure you hydrate, moisturize the area and rest. Do not drink alcohol in excess the night before. No tanning or self tanning. If you are healthy your skin will be healthy and will promote good healing.

The day of

Eat well throughout the day and bring a drink and snack. No weight training or extreme sports due to swelling and possible exposure to bacteria when sweating. If you do choose to bring moral support we ask that you keep it to 1 person. Please bring your government issued ID, birth certificate or passport.

Jess will take cover-ups into consideration. If Jess does take on your cover-up, here are some things you should know… The new piece will have to be at least three times larger than the existing tattoo you want covered up. Jess will only work hourly for cover-ups and will need to schedule at minimum 2 separate appointments. Jess is happy to work with you in designing your cover-up from your basic concept, but because of the inherent difficulties involved, she must retain 100% creative control over the layout and design to ensure that it will be effective at completely covering your existing piece, appropriately fit the area of the body on which it is placed, and meet her professional standards.

Please know that these tattoos are large projects. These types of tattoos sometimes take years to complete. The process is experimental. INDIVIDUAL RESULTS MAY VARY due to certain colors from pre-existing tattoos continuing to show through the finished piece, as well as your skin’s natural pigmentation. To give you an idea of the dedication and commitment these blackwork, white-over-black or negative space tattoos demand, keep this in mind: Blacking out an arm might require sitting for 8 to 12 hours. You will have to wait at least six months until the white ink can be started. Going over top with white ink may require sitting for 12 to 15 hours or more. Typically, the white will have to be applied two to four times. If you’re interested in getting pre-existing designs like plants, silhouettes etc. These designs will need to be done first before blacking out and will also be a seperate hourly tattoo. All blackout projects are dropped from $125 hourly to $100 hourly. Black out work can be in any area of the body and all cover-ups are being accepted. There will be a $100 deposit taken for all black out projects, which is in place to reserve your dates on the calendar. This deposit will come off of the final session when the project is completed. Failure to confirm and show up for appointments will result in loss of deposit.
